08/09/17 Item 1 517/37 | 2. Redesign of Health and Social Services Governance Model The Panel received an update from the Officer on the progress of the review. The Panel noted that it was due to receive a report by Dr A. Hughes (expert advisor) on 6th October. The Panel agreed that it would meet during the week commencing 9th October to prepare a question plan for a Public Hearing with the Minister for Health and Social Services. The Panel noted that it was due to receive a report by Mr. G. Bennett and Mrs. M. Galpin of BWCI and a report by Professor M. Johnson of the International Institute on Health and Ageing (expert advisors) before the end of October. The Panel agreed that the Heads of Report would be revisited once it had received it advisor reports. |

07/09/17 Item 4 | 5. Care of Children in Jersey Review Panel Deputy J.A. Hilton explained that the Review Panel was due to hold a Public Hearing with the Chief Minister on 9th October to discuss the recommendations of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry. |

| 7. Living on Low Income: Proposition The Panel received a draft Proposition which asked the States to approve the reinstatement of the single parent component of Income Support. The Panel noted and agreed some changes proposed by the Chairman. The Officer advised that the changes would be made and a final draft of the Proposition would be circulated for final approval. | KB |

Tobacco Regulations The Panel received correspondence from "Direct Input" (Public Relations agency) which raised concerns about the forthcoming regulations to standardise the packaging of tobacco products. The Panel agreed that it would request further information on the regulations from the Minister for Health and Social Services. | KB |
| 9. Regulation of Care (Regulated Activities) Regulations and Regulation of Care (Standards and Requirements) Regulations The Panel tasked the Officer to request the Health and Social Services Department to provide a timeline of when the Regulations would be lodged. |

Social Security Review: "Living Today: Thinking Ahead' consultation The Panel received correspondence from the Social Security Department regarding a pubic consultation "Living Today: Thinking Ahead". The Department had invited the Panel for a briefing to discuss the consultation and overall review of Social Security. The Panel discussed whether it would be more beneficial for a briefing to take place once the consultation had ended on 15th December. The Panel agreed that it would discuss the matter further at its next meeting. |

Quarterly Hearing with the Minister for Health and Social Services The Panel noted that it was due to hold a Quarterly Pubic Hearing with the Minister for Health and Social Services on 19th October.
