| 1. Further resignation The PAC had met earlier in the day to discuss the findings of the PPC and, with the exception of Deputy J.A. Martin, had agreed to await the outcome of the Vote of Censure of the Chairman, Deputy A.D. Lewis , before deciding on the next course of action. However, following that Meeting, all States members received a statement from Deputy A.D. Lewis , where he appeared to challenge the findings of the PPC. The Acting Chairman advised by email that he therefore no longer had confidence in Deputy A.D. Lewis as Chairman and notified the Officer of his intention to resign from the PAC. It was noted that the resignations (of both Deputy J.A. Martin and the Acting Chairman) should be made in writing to the Bailiff , and would take effect on the next States Assembly sitting. The Acting Chairman advised he would write to the Bailiff on Monday 21st August 2017, and would issue a statement to the media jointly with Deputy J.A Martin soon thereafter. | CT |
