27.03.18 Item 10 | 1. Economic Affairs Scrutiny Panel: Complaint The Committee noted the recusal of the President on this matter, having declared a conflict of interest relating to his participation in the Senatorial election contest. Having considered all of the information available, the Committee agreed that there were certain matters that merited further investigation. This would require a hearing with the Economic Affairs Panel to explore its response to those matters in more detail, and in turn the Committee would offer the Assistant Minister the opportunity to attend a similarly convened hearing. However, the Committee agreed that it was left with little alternative but to suspend the process in view of the purdah period. It would forward all of the information gathered and recommend to the next Chairmen's Committee to re-activate the process as outlined in order to complete the determination of the complaint. It agreed to write to the Panel and Assistant Minister to update them accordingly. | TO |
