Draft Marriage and Civil Status (Jersey) Law The Panel approved its amendment to the Draft Marriage and Civil Status (Jersey) Law, together with an explanatory report, and noted that the Amendment would be provided to the Greffier for formal lodging on 16th January 2018. The Panel reviewed the draft report for its review and requested a number of changes. Subject to the changes being made, the Panel approved the draft report for circulation to stakeholders. |

Draft Machinery of Government (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Jersey) Law Recalling the briefing that it received from the Chief Executive of the States on 12th January 2018, the Panel noted that the Chairmen's Committee had agreed to establish a Review Panel to review the proposals detailed in P.1/2018 Draft Machinery of Government (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Jersey) Law. |

Item 3 13/07/17 | 5. Future Hospital It was noted that, following an independent planning inquiry, the planning application for Jersey's new hospital had been rejected by the Minister for the Environment. The Panel considered the implications of this decision for the Future Hospital project and requested further clarification be sought from the Greffier on the wording of the proposition P.107/2017 "Future Hospital: approval of preferred scheme and funding", approved by the States Assembly in December 2017. |

Item 4 15/12/17 | 6. Migration Policy It was noted that a meeting with the Chief Statistician had been arranged for 22nd January to discuss statistics relevant to the Migration Policy. The Panel discussed the queries that it wished to raise with the Chief Statistician. |

The Chairman explained that the Panel had agreed to lodge a number of amendments to the Draft Marriage and Civil Status (Jersey) Law. The Chairman then outlined each amendment and the Panel's rationale for bringing it forward. |
