| 1. Meeting with the Comptroller and Auditor General The Panel received Ms K. O'Connell, Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) to discuss the issue of post-graduate funding. The Panel recalled that it had received submissions from members of the public highlighting concerns about post-graduate funding in the Island, which in turn had been raised with the Minister for Education in quarterly public hearings. The Panel noted that there was no statutory basis for the Education Department to fund post-graduate courses, and further research had not identified any States decisions to allow for this. The CAG noted the Panel's concerns and agreed that, subject to her current work programme, post-graduate funding was an area she would undertake further work in. |
