1. Records of Meetings

The Panel noted and approved the record of its meeting on 15th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th, and 25th January 2018. The Chairman signed the minutes.

2. Long-Term Care Scheme

The Panel agreed to meet on Friday 16th February to discuss its draft report.

3. Organ Donation

The Panel noted that its review was launched on Monday 12th February. It noted that it had started a social media campaign to solicit questions from the public about the proposed opt-out organ donation system using the hashtags #asktheministerjsy and #organdonationjsy.

The Panel agreed to hold public hearings on Tuesday 27th February and Thursday 1st March. The Panel discussed which stakeholders it wanted to invite to give evidence. The Panel also discussed the areas it wanted to explore in the hearings and agreed to finalise its question plans by email.

4. Discrimination (Disability) (Jersey) Regulations 201-

The Panel noted and approved the scoping document for this review.

The Panel discussed some correspondence it had received on the status of addiction under the regulations. It agreed to set up private meetings with relevant stakeholders to discuss the issue in more detail. The Panel agreed to hold a public hearing with the Minister for Social Security on this issue before 6th March 2018.

5. Mental Health Regulations

The Panel noted the scoping document for this issue. Following discussion of the regulations, the Panel tasked Senator S. Ferguson with further developing the scope of the review for discussion at its next meeting.

8. Future Hospital Review Panel

The Panel noted that the Review Panel would hold a public hearing with the  Minister  for  Health  and  Social  Services  and  the  Minister  for Infrastructure on Monday 26th February 2018.

 

 

9. Future Meetings

The Panel noted that its next scheduled meeting would take place on 1st March 2018 at 9:30am in the Le Capelain room, States Building.
