FINDINGS

The Findings of the Scrutiny Panel are not relevant for the Minister for Planning and Environment, therefore he has no comments to present in relation to those Findings.

RECOMMENDATIONS

The only Recommendations of the Scrutiny Panel that are relevant for the Minister for Planning and Environment are Nos. 17 and 27. The response to these is as follows –

Recommendation: The Code of Practice should also contain a requirement for all CCTV operators to make the public aware of the location of cameras, the purpose of systems and any data matching that may take place. (paragraph 217)

Recommendation: The Panel recommends that the Planning Minister gives serious consideration to reviewing the classification of CCTV as permitted development and follows the example of Scott ish legislation on this matter. (paragraph 236)
