Information had been collected for the development of a Marine Spatial Plan by Marine Resources Officers over a period of years in the knowledge that similar plans were being developed elsewhere in line with directives from the European Union and following guidelines and standards set out by U.N.E.S.C.O.

The Minister thanks the EHI Scrutiny panel for their comprehensive review, and their attention to detail, in their findings and recommendations.
