Chair, Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel

BY EMAIL

Tuesday, 22June 2021 Dear Chair,

PUBLIC HEARING - PEOPLE AND CULTURE REVIEW

Thank you for your letter, dated Thursday, 17 June 2021. I am glad that we were able to find a date and time to hold the Public Hearing in what continues to be a full and unpredictable period.

Just to clarify, we had initially agreed for the Public Hearing to take place on Friday, 7 May 2021. However, as you are aware, that was the week of the unforeseen international fishing incident. The Vice Chair of the States Employment Board was kind enough to cover in my absence, alongside the Interim Chief Executive Officer. I hope you will also appreciate the reasons behind rearranging the Public Hearing on Thursday, 17 June 2021, the morning of which was the funeral of the late Connétable Len Norman, Minister for Home Affairs.

You should be aware that I have endeavoured to reserve most Fridays as a day dedicated to scrutiny-related matters. If this does not appear to work with the other competing priorities of the Panel, I would suggest that we identify an alternative day where such matters can take place from September onwards (with the exception of Tuesdays which are often dedicated to meetings of the Council of Ministers). I will ask my office to liaise with your officials accordingly.

Yours sincerely,

Senator John Le Fondré Chief Minister
