Hello,

The Jersey Child Care Trust would like to request that the Scrutiny Panel charged with looking at the issue of concerns surrounding mobile telephone masts to take into account Jersey's 750 children, aged from birth to 4 years attending private group childcare facilities on a daily basis.

Whilst the Minister for Education has overall responsibility for ESC premises in terms of buildings frequently attended by children, the JCCT is unsure that there is any body or organisation, other that the JCCT who would highlight these private childcare settings which need to be considered and included in any review. There is an association called the Jersey Early Years Association which represents all private early years day nurseries and pre-schools in the Island, the chair is Val Payne at Westmount Day Nursery, however this group will not include school aged care for breakfast, holiday and after-school clubs.

Please do call me should you require further information and please could you confirm receipt of this email.

Yours faithfully Fiona
