Further to my earlier message (see below) I was totally shocked to see the devastation at the car park area when I passed by it late this afternoon. How dare they go ahead with that without prior discussion. Heads should roll. I am not normally such a dramatic person but this has really annoyed me!!

Dear Sir/Madam
I wish to make the following points:
- The car park currently in existence is one of the nicest parking areas in St Helier, well used and perfectly situated. The landscaping is good and is a very welcome green area in the middle of an otherwise concrete jungle.
- If there is the necessity for this centre before it goes ahead, we, the tax payers should be provided with the names of the companies prepared to commit themselves to taking on the offices. It is not sufficient to be told that there is considerable interest.
- We again as tax payers should be told exactly how much money has been spent so far on the plans, I.e. architects fees, staff salaries involved, and what other costs are envisaged within the next 3-6 months.
- More investigation should be done by the appropriate authority to collate the number of vacant office space available to determine the necessity for more office blocks.
I have to say that most people that I talk to are like minded so this investigation must go ahead and how arrogant of Mr Boleat to suggest they the development will go ahead regardless of this further inquiry.
Yours faithfully Gloria Russell
