If equal marriage is to be introduced this gives same sex couples two options. 1) Civil Partnership 2) Marriage.
Unless I am mis-informed heterosexual couples can only get married as they do not have the option for a Civil Partnership. Civil Partnerships should be introduced for all or else this is discriminatory.
