Morning,

I see there is a meeting at Grouville Parish Hall tomorrow evening at 19.00 regarding Electoral reform.

I am very much opposed with wholesale change of the Parochial system especially when it comes to representation which must date back some 400 years.

Amongst other points, I believe at present you have to quite rightly be a Grouville resident to speak and vote at our assembly (same goes for other country Parishes) – how is that going to work in the new system? - Can a St Clement or St Martin resident just turn up and speak at our assembly and vice a versa to question the Deputy of an enhanced system?

I am unfortunately out of Island but hope you have support for the status quo, otherwise it will lead to a complete dilution of the long standing Parochial system and eventually lead to a complete centralisation of all that Parishes represent, knowing and serving the local community with accountability.

Kind regards, Stanley
