Education and Home Affairs Scrutiny Panel Tertiary Education: Student Finance Proposals Written Submission – Syvret – 6 March 2018

Please can you tell me why parents earning £150,000 should be supported by the tax payers to have their children sent to university? Probably, in way out subjects, that's not going to help the Island.

First, it's being suggested that new parents have six months off to bond with their baby.

What do they do next - they put the baby in a crèche - then expect the rate payers to pay for their baby's stay in the crèche.

What was the point of having a baby, bonding it for six months and then dumping it of at a crèche for us to pay for it University fees later.

They "want" the children, they should be taking responsibility for them. £150,000 is a lot of money -to how many families.
