Sir,
Currently the cots to motorists are unknown and there is talk that the whole process will be run by a States Department and not outsourced to the local Motor Trade.
Each year I take my car to the local main dealer to be serviced and much of the service is taken up with testing and assuring that my car is roadworthy. Rather than enforcing an additional costly test, please can the Scrutiny panel explore what would be required to certify and/or modify car dealers routine services to comply with the requirements of the proposed test. This would both save time and money and reduce the requirement for the States to employ more staff to satisfy this requirement.
I would be pleased to flesh out my initial thoughts on this idea if any member of the panel would like to contact me.
Thank you. John Dix
