Having read the article on below standard accomidition, i had to put pen to paper as such, having returned to Jersey for a peroid of time a couple of years ago i could not believe some of the sub standard accommodation that people were living in and the high rents being payed. In my opinion the goverment should regulate all rental properties and if landlords do not comply wth the findings of an inspection with in a short period of time they should be fined and made to comply. Having said this tenents need to be protected from certain landlords so they are not put out on the street. On a final note rents need to be controlled by government an annuall increase of no more then the cost of living or less. Just so you know i am also a landlod out side of Jersey and we have regulations that we have to adhere too.
