I am astonished and dismayed by the plan to widen the winding, steep hill road to 12m to apparently accommodate construction vehicles. This seems wholly inappropriate with the concurrent loss of the long-time established bowls club, loss to People's Park, and to those whose homes are threatened.
It seems entirely against common sense to use this as a main access road, this without even considering the added pressure on traffic on a major route into town from the inner road and Victoria avenue.
I walk the existing route through the park to Westmount and fear the damage to one of the few remaining green spaces on the edge of St. Helier . This should be protected at all costs.
