Name: Andy Vallois Good Evening,

As one of the younger fishermen in jerseys fleet for over 12 years I think that something needs to happen to make sure there is a future for me and others. Increasing our 3-mile limit to include our outlaying reefs. As the ports of Jersey and other Jersey assistance such as sonic cleaning and DFI/TTS maintain these reefs. These jobs include maintenance on transit marks used by Jersey boat owners, cleaning of slipways and access by boat safe, this was done by sonic cleaning. With this in mind I feel that if we look after it we own it. The Minquiers also has the most British toilet in the British isle and is history. Whitest crewing on a larger boat to gain experience and learning I've also seen the damage that the French fishing vessels do to Jersey fishing vessels inside our 6mile limits year after year on grounds that are known to be breeding of bream. If the French where banded out to our 6mile limit there may be a chance of stock rebuild which then may encourage some younger generation to come fishing. Since I've been in the industry all I've seen is more and more regulations which makes our job harder because we've been either following the EU or UK. As the owner of a 19ft fishing boat I feel that because the French can fish up to our 3 and outlaying reefs our larger boats fish closer to home meaning that I'm competing with larger vessels where if the French where out to our 6mile out bigger boats might then be able have more space to work.
