As one of the younger fishermen in jerseys fleet for over 12 years I think that something needs to happen to make sure there is a future for me and others. Increasing our 3-mile limit to include our outlaying reefs. As the ports of Jersey and other Jersey assistance such as sonic cleaning and DFI/TTS maintain these reefs. As the owner of a 19ft fishing boat I feel that because the French can fish up to our 3 and outlaying reefs our larger boats fish closer to home meaning that I'm competing with larger vessels where if the French where out to our 6mile out bigger boats might then be able have more space to work.
