A country is like a plant if it is not growing it is dying. We need more people to pay taxes to support our increasingly ageing population as well as to fill jobs in industries where in many cases there is a paucity of labour.

We are not over populated and if things carry on the way they are going we will have a huge reverse pyramid in demographics with the elderly being a significantly larger number than the young

Housing can easily be created by using up the derelict buildings owned by the States and building more but high rise apartment blocks in St Helier Japan ,Russia etc are facing serious problems due to declining populations we don't want to follow them.
