The location is wrong as it is at the top of a hill and the idea of losing history by creating a road that is effectively the size of a motorway is ridiculous. Plus totally ruining the skyline. As for all the buildings now needing to be purchased, compulsory or not, words fail me. It started off with one or two, how many now? It seems to increase weekly. Also the bowls club, 100 years of history vandalised. Even Le Marquand's parking spaces, this project is doing what the Germans failed to do, put them out of business.

The design is wrong, way too big and it sounds more like a hotel.

At one stage a French firm offered to come over and give us the benefit of their expertise - was their offer ever accepted?

We do not need, nor can we afford, a world class top of the range hospital. We need a regular (but enhanced) general hospital which incorporates the equivalent of the brilliant Samares ward we had at Overdale. We need a reliable Volvo with extras not a top of the range four wheel drive monstrosity.

Neither we, nor the next couple of generations, can afford what is currently being proposed. We certainly should not be borrowing vast amounts of money. Our forefathers must be turning in their graves - and if they were cremated no doubt they'll be on the move soon. I was taught to only buy what I could afford and that has stood me in good stead throughout my life.
