This project is out of control. When originally voted for by the States, it was going to easily fit of a site the States owned. This is not the solution now presented. Its over priced, in the wrong location, it now has spread across the road into 2 important green backdrop fields. This project needs to be reconsidered, with costs taking a part in the location planning. Costed sites need to be presented to the public and States for a vote. The St.Lawrence site should have come in at around half this cost, with it straddling 2 main roads, cycle paths etc. Warwick Farm somewhere in-between. With covid payments, new States HQ, new Fire HQ, new social housing, new town primary school, there is just not the money to spend on a gold plated Overdale. The risk to the population over the next 30 years us just too high, with tax increases needed for years to come, with a probability of never paying the bonds back.
