I totally recognise the general public concern regarding both the location and cost of the new General Hospital in Jersey.
Firstly, I am still of the opinion that the proposed site is wrong for Jersey and that structured re building of the current hospital is still the best option. Building could start at the south side of the current site, with building advancing northwards towards the Parade side. This gives a buffer zone between the construction site and operational part of the hospital. Les Quennevais and / or Overdale could still be utilised as an out patient centres in the mid term (maybe long term).
Second, the costs being quoted are ridiculous when compared to similar projects in cities in the UK and elsewhere. Take a look at the new hospital that was built in Madeira for example.
PLEASE PUT THE BRAKES ON THIS PROJECT AND RE EVALUATE !! Thank you
