The proposed budget for this project is staggering considering the number of islanders this hospital is designed to cater for. Why do we need a world class facility with wide open spaces and one of the best views in Jersey when the majority of people using the hospital will be in and out within a day or so, or will be too sick to even notice their surroundings.
Why choose a site that is so impractical and forces so many people out of their much-loved homes at such expense. It is truly disgusting when other sites with much less impact on local residents, the infrastructure available and which would have been much cheaper options were discounted.
I believe that we should use our rainy day' fund for the purchase of a cheaper hospital on a more appropriate site that has less impact on an entire community. The people of Jersey should not be burdened with this debt for 40 years to come.
This government are very good at wasting Jersey tax-payers money. I still find it unbelievable that they have already spent £38m and planning permission hasn't even been granted!
