I have no actual evidence to provide you. I can only give my views and opinion.
In my view, the hospital is wrongly sited but, given that you have selected Overdale, I think that the architectural plans are beyond Jersey's requirements for an island hospital, with regard to the visual structure.
We are an island of approx 100,000 population and in the opinion of most people to whom I have spoken, we want a GENERAL Hospital with the facilities currently available plus some extra medical facilities. We do NOT want or need, shopping arcades and mall like shops. We who live here, just want excellent medical provision and a safe place to be treated in.
It does not need to be World class, rather, up to an excellent standard for our local needs.
The road leading to the hospital does not need to be of motorway quality, it's not going to be inundated by traffic endlessly.
Please reduce your plans to accommodate local patients and make it good enough to attract good physicians. Look at UK new builds and ask yourselves why the estimates to build our new hospital are more than double those of larger hospitals recently built elsewhere.
