As a volunteer treasurer for a local charity my two mantras are to offer value for money on any expenditure and look to cut costs. Neither of these seem a factor as our government throws money at a project so full of holes.
A world class hospital would give us all treatment on island. Local staff rather than agency for years costing millions. Shorter waiting lists. Clinics run by specialists. Enough beds for appropriate convalescent needs. The list is endless. Meanwhile I will continue to fund raise to help patients pay for basic medical requirements which in the UK are paid for from taxes. There is no element of care in the so called care plan. All the wrong criteria has been applied. We have an over priced carbuncle being imposed on us while searching questions remain unanswered about the choice of site.
