It seems to be abundantly clear that the intended site of the proposed hospital is inappropriate and that the leaders of this project had no appreciation of the size of the site which seems to be ever growing along with the associated costs which are ludicrous. The single biggest capital project undertaken in Denmark was the Aarhus University Hospital, which has cost less than the proposal put forward in Jersey. Surely somebody should be asking serious question as to the costs and why the Overdale site has been chosen when it is so obviously unsuitable. Far better to build on the park below, but why was Warwick Farm rejected when traffic is a far greater issue at Overdale? Or the St Saviour's site as long as public transport is provided? Our gold plated hospital seems to have an unlimited budget and an unlimited size and has now reached past the Crematorium and consumed the JNWW site and needs to be rethought. Thank goodness we have elections in 2022.
How can our hospital exceed the costs of that in Aarhus? Have a look at Grange Uni Hospital in Wales, though that was budgeted a few years ago. I don't want to be in the spotlight but I live not that far from Overdale and I see the whole area being decimated for reasons that escape me.
