Dear scrutiny panel members
I'd like to draw your attention to the fact the deal on the table is not a reciprocal agreement by any means . Our waters up to 3mile are being given away based on free smooth trade with our neighbours , If that was the case for this unique cosy arrangement to exist breaking so many international obligations , We should at least be treated no different as to a French boat fishing in Jersey waters when it comes to landing into France instead of still having every obstacle that was put in place in the event of a no deal apart from tariffs still in place .
Jersey instead of just giving in to French demands over fears of upsetting them and rocking the boat needs to standup against there bullying tactics and put Jersey first .. if Jersey doesn't the bullying will continue every time Jersey tries to bring in new regulations to rebuild our fisheries and insure sustainability for future generations.
I have first hand experience of this having been involved in the Granville Bay meetings over many frustrating years ..
The French are asking for 350 licences to fish in our waters do you really think they care about sustainability ?
Jersey will probably have less than 10 licences to fish in French waters ., you don't have to be a marine biologist to work out why , Please act now this is history in the making that will shape the future of Jersey's Heritage ..
Please stand up for one of Jersey's oldest industry's, Please don't let the history books read that your fishing community was let down on your watch !
