David Dore – 14th August 2022 Bring back Social Housing.
i.e. Rents charged according to household income.
Apart from the benefit to tenants from not forcing them into the Income Support system (most people don't want to be) would save the taxpayer millions every year. That money saved can go to Andium via a loan direct from the Treasury as a political decision. The side bonus would be a reduction in numbers of Claimants for Social Security, therefore requiring less staff. Also bringing back more people into the local economy is good for local business.
People working full time should not be economically forced onto Income Support - bad socially and bad economics.
