Dear Deputy

I hope your investigations eventually lead to it being made illegal for businesses to refuse to accept cash. I use credit, debit cards and cash but am infuriated when a business refuses my cash. After all it is, to use an old phrase, coin of the realm' and the usage of it must be protected.

I was in London twice last month, both times I did not use any cash but that was through choice. Tapping in and out of the Underground (you can even do that from Gatwick to London too) is fabulous.

If cash usage declines that should be the choice of us, the people. We should not be dragooned into it by businesses, who increasingly are treating us like mugs.

Yours

James Sinclair
