Opinion about a cashless Jersey
It would be a travesty if Jersey was to go cash free.
: Many people find it easier to control their spending by using cash
: the only people that benefit financially are the banks or card machine companies. Small businesses in particular really loose out by having to pay charges for each and every payment with a card.
: many elderly and young prefer cash. My eight year old granddaughter cannot apply for a bank card but loves to go to a shop and spend her birthday or Christmas money.
It most definitely would be discriminatory to stop cash and create many unforeseen problems and a huge back lash for a whole host of reasons.
