I think it is terrible that in some places here in jersey they do not accept cash . In regards to this they have no signs saying they don't . Take the watersplash , a jersey institution, i went there on Sunday , ordered and was then told they did not accept cash . I find this totally inappropriate. I don't have a card so walked out .
What about blind people , old people who are not tech savvy , what about the bookmakers?
I would imagine a large percentage of their takings are in cash . Will we have another 10 shops empty when they shut ?
Cash has been around forever and my take on it is if it is not broken it does not need fixing.
People should have the choice to have a transaction without anybody knowing
What about people who do not have bank accounts ? Do they have to leave the island ? I strongly object to cash only
If that applies to jersey I will sell my property and leave , and i was born here 54 years ago
