Marine Spatial Plan Review Submission Harry Jones – 25 July 2024
I am a local scallop diver in Jersey. I've been diving for scallops for the last decade and have noticed the life on the seabed getting less prolific each year on year. I can't see a future if further conservation efforts do not happen immediately, there's not a problem policing as we have a large fisheries department, for example we used to catch Sole pretty much every day and have not yet had one this year which is quite worrying. I often see dredge marks on the seabed (South Ecrehose) where it seems to be derelict. I completely back the Blue Marine Foundation as they've made progress in England.
