My 19 year old was diagnosed with ADHD privately in Jersey under Dr Mona Freeman at a time he was struggling to finish his qualification. The wait time for him to have his initial assessment with Dr Freeman was significant, put additional pressure on him at a time when he had enough on his plate (trying to get through his qualification) and was significant in terms of it's cost. Dr Freeman was highly surprised that the symptoms of his ADHD had not been picked up on during all of his schooling. Since his diagnosis he has had regular return visits/appointments with Dr Freeman at £250 per session. He has now been transferred to the public service waiting list but in the meantime remains under the care of Dr Freeman. When I enquired as to when he could be expected to be seen under the public service I was advised the wait list was 2 years. This is totally unacceptable. I am a Jersey born and a high rate tax payer on this island and for what benefit when I can't access the treatment I require for my son.

For this reason, as well as the cost of living and everything else going on in the island right now, I am giving serious consideration to relocating.

I'm at least someone has picked up on at least this as one of the many crises the island is facing right now.
