Early proposals for Migration Policy
Terms of reference
1. To review the proposals contained in the Report and Proposition of the Policy and Resources Committee entitled ‘Migration: Monitoring and Regulation’ (P.25/2005) in respect of linking access to accommodation to employment and to consider the supporting evidence. 2. To assess the impact of these proposals on the stock of accommodation for both the local population and inward migrants. 3. To assess the projections in the States Strategic Plan for economic growth, the capacity of the existing resident population to fill the opportunities and the likely consequences for inward migration. 4. To assess the human rights implications of the proposals in respect of housing and employment regulations. 5. To report on its findings to the States in order to inform the debate on the above Report and Proposition.
