The Review Panel has published its report.
About
In December 2018 the Care of Children in Jersey Review Panel published its report S.R.17/2018 Response to the Care Inquiry: Update Quarter Four 2018. In this report the Review Panel focussed on the progress that had been made to implement the response to recommendations one to four of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry (IJCI) as set out in P.108/2017. The report also focussed on other issues that had arisen as a result of the IJCI recommendations including the pledge and plan for children and young people and funding concerns for 2019.
The Review Panel agreed that it would seek to publish six monthly reports in order to provide an update on the progress that had been made implementing the recommendations and also review that progress.
The focus of this report will therefore be on the actions that have been undertaken to implement recommendations five (Legislation), six, (Corporate Parenting), seven (The Jersey Way) and eight (Legacy Issues)
Terms of reference
- To identify and assess the progress made implementing the actions in relation to recommendations 5 – 8 of the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry as set out within p.108/2017
- To examine any additional actions that have arisen in relation to recommendations 5 – 8 since the publication of p.108/2017
