The Machinery of Government Sub-Committee is established by the Privileges and Procedures Committee to consider Jersey's system and structure of government.
In that system, executive power is held by the Government of Jersey - the Council of Ministers of the Chief Minister and 12 Ministers (who are helped by 8 Assistant Ministers). Legislative power is exercised by the States Assembly, the role of which also includes holding the Government to account - a function undertaken for the Assembly by the Scrutiny Panels and Public Accounts Committee.
