In the centre of the Chamber there are two raised chairs. The higher seat is occupied by the Presiding Officer, the Bailiff, and the lower by the Lieutenant-Governor. In front is where the Greffier sits. Members sit in sections according to their elected positions.
On the far right (adjacent to the Bailiff’s seat) is where the Connétables are located. The 37 Deputies take up the remainder of the seats. In the back row on the far left sit the Dean of Jersey and the Law Officers.
On the right of the Bailiff sits the Usher who, in addition to announcing the arrival of the Presiding Officer at the start of the meeting, will circulate papers around the Chamber without interrupting the proceedings and carry the Royal Mace to and from the Chamber.
