REPORT

The aim of the amendment of Deputy K.F. Morel of St. Lawrence is supported. It is important to ensure that future decisions can be made regarding the most effective form of border controls to protect our Island, based on high-quality quarantine, rigorous testing, or both.

This amendment is simply to ensure that any rigorous testing regime is able to draw upon a full range of technologies, given that a rigorous testing system in the future may involve both PCR and more accurate forms of antibody testing, as these and other effective systems become available.

There are no direct financial or manpower implications arising from the adoption of this amendment to the amendment.
