REPORT

On 14th September 2022, the Minister for Children and Education made a Ministerial Decision delegating certain of her functions under Articles 28, 30 and 30A of the States of  Jersey  Law  2005 (see  Decision  reference  MD-CED-2022-606,  available  at www.gov.je).

The terms of the delegations, and the legislation under which those delegations were made, were recorded in a Report attached to the Ministerial Decision, as shown below –

Following the appointments of Deputy L.M.C. Doublet of St. Saviour and Connétable R.P. Vibert of St. Peter as Assistant Ministers for Children and Education on 21st July 2022,  the  Minister  for  Children  and  Education  has  delegated  political  oversight responsibility for the following to her Assistant Ministers:

Diversity  and  Equality,  to  include  the  ongoing  development  of amendments  to  the  Children  (Jersey)  Law  2002  and  Civil  Status (Jersey) Law 2001 to enable same sex parental responsibility.

Children's Rights, to include the ongoing development of supporting work to bring an appointed day act for the Draft Children (Convention Rights) (Jersey) Law 202-

Participation, engagement and communication - Children and Young People

Approval of fees for Jersey College Preparatory, Jersey College for Girls, Victoria College Preparatory and Victoria College in accordance with Article 13A of the Education (Jersey) Law 1999.
