Will the Minister advise whether a contract has been awarded with the aim of reducing the waiting list for cataract surgery, and if so, will he state –

  1. the cost of the quote for this work;
  2. the amount paid for this work;
  3. the length of the term of the contract;
  4. the amount of time spent in Jersey by anyone contracted to undertake the work; and
  5. whether there have been any issues with the treatment carried out in Jersey, and if so, what those issue have been?

Answer

  1. circa £260,000
  2. Health and Community Services (HCS) is awaiting the final invoice.
  3. The contract was based on a volume of clinical activity.
  4. Clinical activity took place over an 18-day period.
  5. HCS does not comment on matters to do with individual patients, their treatment, treatment outcomes or other special category health data matters.
