Have your say on cash payments: Scrutiny panel seeks Islanders’ views

Scrutiny

3 July 2024

The Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel is undertaking a review of the acceptance of cash payments and would like to receive the views of Islanders on this topic. The Panel is asking people to complete a short survey so they can understand the opinions and experiences of individuals, businesses, and organisations in Jersey.

Chair of the Panel, Deputy Tadier said, 'We are very pleased with the level of interest shown so far in this compelling subject, and we have already received 54 written submissions to date. This survey will allow us to gather further valuable insights that will help the Panel make informed findings and recommendations to Government.'

The Panel will also be holding a pop-up stand for the public to discuss their views with the Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel members directly. Details will be shared closer to the time.

The survey, which only takes about 5 minutes to complete and is anonymized, can be found here. Paper copies are also available and can be collected from the States Greffe at Morier House. The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 31 July.

If you have any questions about the survey, or would like to give a written submission, please email scrutiny@gov.je or write to 'The Economic and International Affairs Scrutiny Panel, Morier House, Halkett Place, St. Helier, Jersey, JE1 1DD'.  Written submissions are generally published on the States Assembly website and may be cited in the Panel's final report. If you wish for your name to not be included when we publish your submission, please let us know at the time of making your submission. For further information, please read the States Greffe privacy policy.
