New review panel established to scrutinise hospital project

Scrutiny

17 May 2024

A new Hospital Review Panel has been constituted to scrutinise the progress and governance of the Government's New Healthcare Facilities Programme.

The new Panel is chaired by Deputy Jonathan Renouf, with Deputy Steve Ahier as Vice Chair, and Panel Members Deputy Karen Wilson and Deputy Alex Curtis. The Panel will continue the work of the previous 'Future Hospital Review Panel', which was chaired by Deputy Sam Mézec before the change in Government earlier this year.

The Panel's initial work will focus on the financing, rationale, and governance of the hospital project, with a detailed work programme and Terms of Reference to be developed.

Commenting on the formation of the Panel, Deputy Renouf, Chair of the Hospital Review Panel, said "The New Hospital Facilities Programme is a project of vital significance for all islanders and so as more detailed proposals are brought forward it is incredibly important that they are scrutinised thoroughly and effectively. We all share a desire for the best possible outcomes, delivered in as cost-effective way as possible, and as a panel we aim to work with all stakeholders to help achieve our shared goals."
