This week's States Meeting

The next meeting of the States Assembly will commence tomorrow, Tuesday 29 June, at 9:30am. The entire meeting will be broadcast live using Microsoft Teams via the following links:
The first item for the States Assembly will be the nomination and appointment of a new Minister for Children and Education and a new Minister for Home Affairs. The Chief Minister will nominate Deputy Scott Wickenden as the Minister for Children and Education and Deputy Gregory Guida as the Minister for Home Affairs. Deputy Robert Ward and Deputy Louise Doublet have both announced their intention to stand for the position of Minister for Children and Education. Each candidate will speak for up to 10 minutes and answer questions from States Members for up to 20 minutes. If there is only one candidate, that individual will automatically be appointed. If there is more than one candidate, States Members will vote on who to appoint as Minister.
Appointments will be followed by up to two hours and 20 minutes of oral questions with notice, details of which can be found on page six of the Order Paper. The following Ministers will then answer oral questions without notice for 15 minutes each:

The Minister for Housing and Communities, Deputy Russell Labey
The Chief Minister, Senator John Le Fondré
