REPORT

I have brought this amendment to my own proposition on re-reading P.33/2014, the Chief Minister's Amendment No. 8 to the States of Jersey Law 2005, as it occurred to me that if it is passed, the Chief Minister will be able to change the Ministries and their names. Therefore if that was the case, I still wish to establish that, whoever fulfils the important functions of Treasury and Resources and External Relations, that these functions are carried out by Ministers with Island-wide mandates, for all the reasons given in my proposition.

As the office of Chief Minister will remain, there are no changes needed to that position.

Financial and manpower implications
