ST. JOHN – PROPOSED BUY-BACK DUE TO CONTAMINATED SITE

Decision(s): Under Standing Order 168(3) the Minister for Treasury and Resources hereby notifies the States that he has accepted the recommendation of the Property Holdings Department to agree to the following –

Land transaction –

1. To buy back the Mont Mado Shed Site, Rue de la Mare des Pres, St. John , at the sale price as at 19th July 2009, plus all reasonable costs associated with the developer's purchase of the site and its work subsequently undertaken in connection with commencing the development, plus interest on the financial outlay.
2. To authorise Jersey Property Holdings' Accounting Officer to negotiate and agree the final value of the financial settlement with the developer.
3. To confirm the above decision after giving the States 15 working days' notice of the transaction, and to cause the transaction to be completed; confirmation to be given by decision of the Minister for Treasury and Resources.
4. Under  Standing  Order  168(5)  to authorise  the  Attorney  General  and  the Greffier of the States to pass any contract which is required to be passed on behalf of the Public.

After the expiry of 15 days following presentation to the States the transaction may be concluded.
