REPORT

The Minister for Home Affairs presents the following statistics for the year 2013

  1. Statement as to the number of births and deaths, marriages and civil partnerships registered in the twelve parishes of the Island during 2013.

Notes:

  1. When  the  various  re-registrations  are  deducted  from  the  official  birth registrations shown above, the number of children born in the Island in 2013 was 1017.
  2. There were 7 stillbirths in the Island in 2013.
  3. The  number  of  marriages  performed  in  the  Office  of  the  Superintendent Registrar in 2013 was 178. This was 8 more than in the previous year. A further 163 civil marriages were celebrated in Approved Premises, 29 less than  in  the  previous  year.  The  most  popular  months  for  marriages  were August (68), September (58) and July (46).
  4. During the year 119 couples came to the Island to be married. This are 3 more than in the previous year. The most popular months for visitors were August
    1. and July (20).
  5. The number of deaths registered in 2013 was 719, 43 less than in the previous year.
  6. In 2013, there were 27 civil partnership ceremonies. 4 couples came to the Island for their ceremony.
