LEASE

Presented to the States on 26th May 2017 by the Minister for Infrastructure

REPORT

Decision(s):  Under  Standing  Order  168(3)  the  Minister  for  Infrastructure  hereby notifies the States that he has accepted the recommendation of the Property Holdings Department to agree to the following –

Land transaction –

For the Public of the Island of Jersey to enter into a new 9-year lease of 1st Floor, International House, 41 The Parade, St. Helier , to be occupied by the Judicial Greffe. The existing premises of the Judicial Greffe are unsuitable for their future needs, and it is not possible to house this function in any of the existing publicly-owned property. Leasing the 1st Floor of International House is therefore deemed the best use of public resources in order to allow the Judicial Greffe to continue providing the Employment Tribunal function for the benefit of the Island.

The Minister hereby authorises, as applicable, the Attorney General and the Greffier of the States to pass any contract which is required to be passed on behalf of the Public; and the Director of Property Holdings to conclude any contract which is required to be concluded on behalf of the Public.

After the expiry of 15 days following presentation to the States the transaction may be concluded.
