REPORT
The Minister for Home Affairs presents the following statistics for the year 2016 –
- Statement as to the number of births, stillbirths, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships registered in the 12 parishes of the Island during 2016.

- There were 38 re-registrations1 in 2016. These re-registrations have already been deducted from the table above, so that there were 1,008 births registered in Jersey in 2016.
- There were 2 stillbirths in the Island in 2016.
- The number of marriages performed in the Office of the Superintendent Registrar in 2016 was 189. This was 15 more than in the previous year. A further 169 civil marriages were celebrated in Approved Premises, 26 less than in the previous year. The most popular months for marriages (including Anglican marriages) were July and August.
- During the year, 103 couples came to the Island to be married by licence of the Superintendent Registrar. This is one less than in the previous year. The most popular months for visitors were July and August.
- The number of deaths registered in 2016 was 795, 17 more than in the previous year.
