REPORT

On 31st January 2024, the Minister for Children and Education made a Ministerial Decision delegating certain of his functions under Articles 28, 30 and 30A of the States of  Jersey  Law  2005 (see  Decision  reference  MD-CED-2024-38,  available  at www.gov.je).

The terms of the delegations, and the legislation under which those delegations were made, were recorded in a Report attached to the Ministerial Decision, as shown below –

Deputy Robert Ward of St. Helier Central

Functions delegated:

Political  responsibility  for  all  aspects  of  the  Education  Directorate within the Children, Young People, Education and Skills Department.

Legislation:

Day  Care  of  Children  (Jersey)  Law  2002,  Education  (Grants  and Allowances)  (Jersey)  Order 2018,  Education  (Jersey)  Law  1999, Education (Nursery Fees) (Jersey) Regulations 2011, Loi (1836) sur la Bibliothèque Publique, Public Library (Jersey) Regulations 2007

Scope of delegation:

In the event that the Minister is unavailable or out of the Island, the Minister delegated all powers and functions conferred upon or vested in the Minister, including the power to make an enactment, and all other areas where the Minister would otherwise have to act and be advised.
