ST. CLEMENT: PEDESTRIAN IMPROVEMENTS (P.158/2004) COMMENTS

Presented to the States on 23rd November 2004 by the Finance and Economics Committee

STATES GREFFE

COMMENTS

The Finance and Economics Committee notes that the financial implications stated in the Report and Proposition are considered to be nil on the basis that the proposition, if approved, could be funded from the Urban Renewal Fund.

The Committee also notes the comment of the Environment and Public Services Committee which states that the balance of funds held in the Urban Renewal Fund is fully allocated to priority schemes; and that there may well be other financial implications in terms of feasibility and legal costs.

The Committee is mindful of the limited resources held within the Urban Renewal Fund and considers that the most efficient use of public funds arises from planned and prioritised evaluation. It cannot therefore support this Proposition.
